From Wilmington to Asheville, 35 new employers have received the Family Forward NC® Employer Certification. This is the latest cohort announced since June. Greensboro has the most certified employers in this half of the year sparked by our partnership with Action Greensboro and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce to create the first Family Forward NC® Certified Community! The campaign is in full swing with lots of community pride!
Certified employers in this cohort offer a wide range of family friendly policies. Among them, on-site child care, mid-week rotating day off, unlimited PTO, adoption assistance, and paid family medical leave. These employers include locally owned businesses, minority and women-owned businesses, multinationals, nonprofits, and employers in the construction, education, health, transportation and finance industries.

This brings our total number of certified employers to 107, employing 40,600 workers. Of these, 19 are women and/or minority owned/led. The smallest number of employees working for a certified employer is five and the largest number of employees working for a certified employer is 12,900.
