This quick check will help us determine if your organization is eligible to join our community of family-friendly employers. Here’s what it takes to be eligible as a Family Forward NC® Employer:

  • A team of at least five:

    We’re looking for organizations with a minimum of five employees working in North Carolina, each working at least 30 hours per week.

  • Benefits for all:

    We want all your employees working at least 30 hours per week (non-seasonal employees) to be eligible for your awesome benefits. Learn more about what qualifies as a seasonal employee.

  • Clear and accessible policies:

    Employees should have easy access to your written policies. 

If your organization meets these criteria, you’re one step closer to becoming a Family Forward NC® Certified Employer!

Size Categories and Fees

If you are eligible to continue your journey to certification after completing this check, you’ll need to submit a $50 application fee. This non-refundable fee is a small investment in a program that can bring big benefits to your organization and your employees. 

Once we receive your application fee, you’ll receive an email with a link to our full certification application. Then, you’ll share more details about your organization’s policies and practices, share your Employee Handbook with us, and ask your employees for feedback through an anonymous survey.

Once certified, the certification fee is based on the total number of employees in your organization (full and part-time employees physically working in the U.S.). Our four size categories are:

  • 5 to 49 employees: $200
  • 50 to 99 employees: $450
  • 100 to 499 employees: $750
  • 500+ employees: $1,500

Your certification is good for two years.
