Future Ready Greensboro

Action Greensboro, the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and the North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation’s Family Forward NC announced a new partnership to make Greensboro the first Family Forward NC Certified Community in the state. Through a new initiative – Future Ready Greensboro – the goal is to ensure that at least 85,000 employees in Greensboro work for Family Forward NC Certified Employers by 2025.

“As the first Family Forward NC Certified Community, Greensboro will have the opportunity to show current and future local businesses, residents, and families that this is a place where they can thrive,” said Cecelia Thompson, Executive Director of Action Greensboro at the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce Annual Celebration, where the initiative was announced. “Plus, our growing economy means we’ll have a projected 20,000 new jobs by 2029. To be ready for the future, we need a steady pipeline of talent to support this growth.”

At the launch, the first 13 Greensboro Family Forward Certified Employers were announced, representing more than 7,100 Greensboro residents. Certified employers include: Boulton Creative, Brown Property Investments, Charles Aris, Children and Families First, City of Greensboro, Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, Delta Dental of NC, Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, Guilford County, Kindermusik International, Machine Specialities, shift_ed and Ready for School, Ready for Life.
